How do I get my own SummitScene.org account

Send the following information to admin at summitscene dot org:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Mailing Address
  • Phone (cell preferred, specify which)
  • Preferred account name (it will become your email address)

If you don't already have email, find a friend who does to send this information for you.

Chat

How do I join the SummitScene.org chat room

Go to summitscene-chat@conference.jabber.org.

Some chat clients will allow you to click on the above link to join. Others will require you to enter the location (it looks like an email address). Still others will require you to enter the name (summitscene-chat) and the server (conference.jabber.org) separately.

What chat clients work with SummitScene.org

You can use any Jabber or XMPP compatible chat client. The SummitScene.org administrator likes Gajim. You can find a list of such clients at jabber.org.

This is a known limitation. Use a better chat client from jabber.org.

Calendar

How can I see the SummitScene.org calendar integrated with my own schedule

Select the appropriate link under "Subscribe" on our Calendar page. If you have a SummitScene.org account, you can also set up personal reminders for any of our events.

Why can't I see all my calendars from the SummitScene.org start page

There is a bug that prevents all but your main calendar from showing from the start page. Google is working hard to address the issue. Meanwhile, you can see all your calendars from http://calendar.summitscene.org/.

Groups

I'm getting too much email from the summitscene google group

You can sign in to Google Groups and change your email subscription options. Alternatively, you can unsubscribe from the group and subscribe to the low traffic summitscene-announce group.

I'm not getting any email from the summitscene google group

When your SummitScene.org account is set up, you are usually enrolled in the summitscene Google Group with a default email subscription option of "no email". You can sign in to Google Groups and change this.
